Answer to Question 1

Answer: Personality disorders and personality traits are similar, but also different in important ways. Someone who is self-centered, eccentric, overly dramatic, odd, or generally socially isolated, but who can work effectively and does not harm himself or others, does not have a personality disorder. He just has a personality (even though it might be a bit weird or annoying). Also, culture matters. If someone is behaving according to his cultural traditions or expectationseven if that behavior seems strange to ushe should not be seen as having a personality disorder.
