Answer to Question 1

Answer: Implicit self-esteem is self-esteem you are not necessarily aware that you have, while explicit self-esteem is self-esteem you are aware of having. Implicit is unconscious, while explicit is conscious.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Research into self-esteem programs has found that students earning low grades performed worse when given self-esteem boosts, instead of better. Their self-esteem was boosted, but their grades did not improve. Self-esteem boosts are considered good for increasing self-esteem, but not for improving performance.
