The boundary between a polar cell and a Ferrel cell creates extratropical cyclones. This occurs in each
hemisphere. This area is called a polar front and generates large storms during winter seasons when the
temperature and density differences are more pronounced. Information can be found in the section

There is a Ferrel cell, a Hadley cell, and a polar cell in each hemisphere. The circulation of these cells
are driven by the uneven solar heating and influenced by the Coriolis Effect. Information can be found
