Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

Well-sorted sediments are dominated by one particle size. Poorly sorted sediments are a mixture of sizes.
Well-sorted sediments are commonly found in the deep ocean. This is due to narrow changes in energy at these depths.
Well-sorted sediments in the deep ocean are transported by ocean currents.
Poorly sorted sediments tend to be close to shore. They occur in areas with high erosion rates because of the high energy fluctuations. The erosion and wave action creates many different particle sizes.
Poorly sorted sediments are transported by turbidity currents.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
