Employers look for those who have good interpersonal skills, discretion, good judgment, organizational or managerial ability, initiative, good grooming, a pleasant personality, and the ability to work independently or as a team member. They also want employees with a high degree of skill in office related-skills, technology, equipment, and the like.

Schedulingattention to detail; knowledge of specialized software, if one is used; effective telephone techniques; interpersonal communication if interacting with patients; and knowledge of specific procedures for scheduling.
