Answer to Question 1

Fluid intelligence refers to factors that make you an adaptive and flexible thinker. Fluid intelligence allows you to make inferences and understand relations among concepts. Crystallized intelligence is the knowledge you have acquired during your lifetime due to education and experiences in a given culture. Across time, these two types of intelligence follow very different paths. Fluid intelligence tends to decline across adulthood, whereas crystallized intelligence tends to increase. Some have speculated that underlying changes in the brain are responsible for the decline in fluid intelligence. As for crystallized intelligence, it appears people continue adding to their knowledge every day.
