An officer is currently going through a divorce, has just finished the training academy, and has been assigned to a community that does not respect officers because of the bad reputation they have created in the past.
 
  This officer is offered a free meal by a local merchant who notices how stressed he is at the moment. Describe how these factors may contribute to why this officer may behave in an unethical manner.

- Individual beliefs of an officer: beliefs of an officer can influence their decision of whether or not to take the free meal, depending on their upbringing.
- Citizens: pressure to fit in the community may influence their decision to accept a free meal or emphasize the importance of not accepting gratuities.
- Stressful situation or conditions: the officer is currently in several stressful situations, being new in the field, being assigned a community with no respect towards him, and a divorce taking place.
