Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

A standard time line is inadequate for representing many performance traditions that evolved over an extended period and had no specific moment of creation. This is especially true of traditions that reach back before written records. As performance traditions get passed down from generation to generation, they are adapted and altered, making it difficult to pinpoint when one form ends and other begins. A standard time line fails to capture the reality and nuances of the lives, deaths, and rebirths of many performance traditions that have left us no tangible record of their trajectory.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
