One partner expects so much from their mate and the marriage that they are disappointed in the reality and begin to blame the mate for the discrepancy.

Answer to Question 2

Prior to no-fault divorce laws, alimony was used as punishment for the person who had wronged the other in a divorce. However, now that couples do not need to show fault for a divorce, the courts are less likely to award alimony. In addition, if women now have equal rights with men, they should be able to support themselves economically.
