Answer to Question 1

ANS: families as resources

Answer to Question 2

ANS: (answer may include any/all of the following):
Teachers are encouraged to make programs effective, inclusive, and culturally relevant for children and families because that best meets the needs of the children and their families.
The needs of each child will be best met and supported when teachers respond with sensitive and culturally relevant behaviors. This invites teachers to partner with parents in ways that will incorporate the cultures of the families and communities into the curriculum.
Teachers can encourage families to become engaged by welcoming and expecting their support of families in decision making.
An inclusive setting is an environment that is prepared to respond to the great diversity of children, cultures, languages, and abilities.
