Discuss the pros and cons of technology in the lives of children including computers, video games, television, cell phones, touch tablets, iPods, instant messaging, email, social networking and photography. Describe the pros and cons of at least three of the types of technology.

ANSWER: Answers should include both criticisms and advantages, such as what may be learned from or with some of the selected media.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: Play is the major activity through which children learn. Garvey defined four vehicles of play: play with motion and interaction play with objects play with language and play with social materials. Answers should include an explanation of each.
