How might a field guide be helpful in early childhood education?

The language of most field guides is too difficult for young children to comprehend. However, the information field guides provide, if properly summarized by an adult, can be quite helpful. Also, these guides tend to contain clear, technically accurate illustrations and photographs that are clear and useful.
