Answer to Question 1

Fingerplays can be used to teach basic concepts. They are excellent tools to make smooth transitions between activities. They can be used over again, with each repetition increasing them being learned by the children, thus fostering active participation in a language activity.

Answer to Question 2

Mother Goose stories are easily used to stimulate language acquisition and to develop social behavior rules. They contain wonderfully simple humor and easily lend themselves to flannelboard dramatizations and art activities. In addition, they are a rich source of our heritage.
