Make efficient use of the time by planning the conference thoroughly in advance. Gather the background information ahead of time and a have all notes and supporting documents and resources ready.

ANSWER: Home visits can be valuable opportunities for the family and the caregiver to learn more about each other. The teacher can see how the family members and child relate to each other in their own homes. Home visits must be planned carefully to respect the familys time and space.
