Answer to Question 1

High-level distancing strategies encourage child speech development, thinking ability, and literacy. They include adult speech that involves drawing conclusions, inferring cause and effect, planning, evaluating consequences or effect and modeling and/or suggesting child contemplation. Low-level distancing strategies include labeling, producing information, and observation remarks or comments which afford the child less opportunity to think more deeply about the experiences he shares with the adult.

Answer to Question 2

FALSE
