Answer 1

Anyone who agrees that different demographic, lifestyle, and psychographic characteristics can influence choice should also recognize that good research is essential to understanding the ways in which these behaviors by segments may differ. But too many travel executives rely on and n of 1, i.e., while shaving in the morning they decide that if they like a potential new product or service, then much of the marketplace probably will also. Instead, they should find out how many people truly are interested in the product or service, what groups or categories show the strongest interest, do these groups have sufficient income and available free time to take advantage of the product, and is it a growth market or is it likely to face a declining future? Armed with this knowledge, better decisions can be made to ensure the success of the operation.

Answer 2

Any business that feels it might be attractive to individual leisure travelers or convention attendees.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
