As mentioned in Question 1, centrally located countries like France will record lots of travelers as arrivals who are simply passing through the country on their way to another destination.

Countries without a diversified economy, in which many different industries are present, will be more dependent on one industry than others for jobs and income. This is true of many Caribbean island nations, blessed by good weather, fine beaches, and good hotels. The problem with over-dependence is that when economic recession occurs in source countries or a natural disaster like an earthquake, tsunami, or hurricane happens, the tourism-dependent country will not have another industry to counterbalance the adverse effect on over-dependence on tourism.
