 Media normalize dieting and thinness as well as encourage critical evaluation of one's body
 While it is clear that the media can and does have a negative impact on body image and body satisfaction/dissatisfaction, mere exposure does not cause eating disorders: it is the internalization of these images in vulnerable individuals that leads to eating disorders
