You have an infant who is 11 months old. She can hold small objects between her thumb and forefinger, such as marbles, coins, and crayons. You are amazed at this ability and believe that she is highly advanced. What is your pediatrician likely to say?
◦ She is highly advanced; children generally do not do this until two years of age.
◦ She is engaging in the pincer grasp, which most children do around this age.
◦ She should be doing quite a bit more, so she is actually less developed.
◦ She is likely to be an artist.

Did you know?

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
