What is the effect of selective REM sleep deprivation on daytime functioning?

It severely impairs cognitive functioning the next day.
It severely impairs motor functioning the next day.
It has little impact on daytime functioning or task performance.
It impairs functioning in the morning, but those deficits are brief.
