Jenissa didn't want to attend the lecture on endangered South American snails, anticipating that it would be boring and a waste of her time. Yet she found herself sitting through the entire three-hour presentation. What can Jenissa do to reduce the feelings of cognitive dissonance between her attitude ("this is a boring subject") and her behavior ("but I just sat through an entire lecture on this subject")?
◦ Change her attitude to be in line with her behavior, and conclude that she likes South American snails after all
◦ Deny that she sat through a boring presentation, and also deny that she ever held any attitudes about snails
◦ Maintain her attitude but be more vocal in telling people she doesn't like snails
◦ Maintain her attitude and acknowledge her behavior, and hope the dissonance will reduce on its own
