Why are telomeres problematic for eukaryotic chromosome replication?
◦ They are highly repetitive and thus hard to replicate correctly.
◦ Telomerase is more error-prone than the normal DNA Polymerase.
◦ The T loop blocks formation of primers on the lagging strand.
◦ Removal of the lagging strand primer leaves a gap in the one of the strand's DNA sequences.
◦ Maintaining very long telomeres promotes cancer cell formation.

It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
