If you are not fit and you want to begin a physical activity program, the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) is a good screening tool to determine if you are ready for physical activity. The PAR-Q asks seven questions about any experiences you may have had such as a loss of consciousness, a heart condition, chest pain, dizziness, bone or joint problems, medications, or any other reason to suggest the need to talk to a physician before starting an exercise program.
