One study found that 50 of heterosexual female seniors reported being asked out by a man on six or more dates while at college; one third of respondents said they had been on only two or fewer dates (Glenn & Marquardt, 2001). Why might there be less dating today?

In addition, college women report having more negative appraisals of college men, engaging in fewer traditional dates, and being less likely to have a college boyfriend (Uecker et al., 2010).
