Answer to Question 1

 Possible Response Points
Toxic leaders tend to be individuals who were promoted beyond their competence level. They may have performed well at their previous level but were unable to adapt to the demands and responsibilities of their new job.
Toxic leaders also fail to build a team, often through bad hiring decisions of their own.
Poor interpersonal skills often lead to a boss being perceived as toxic to his/her followers. They may be arrogant and demand a show of respect, or they may create conflict unnecessarily with or among their subordinates.
Toxic leaders often engage in behaviors that undermine the ability of their subordinates to work together. For example, they may change their mind too frequently or betray a trust.
Some leaders are beyond toxic and downright dangerous. Signs that a dangerous leader is emerging include indifference towards people's suffering, intolerance of criticism, and a grandiose sense of entitlement.
