Answer to Question 1

Phase 1: Pre-retirement - People start to consider retiring and begin preparing for the next stage, and they begin to disengage from the workplace.
Phase 2: Retirement - People can take one of three possible routes to retirement:
The honeymoon route is characterized by a taking-it-easy routine.
The immediate retirement routine course is characterized by the ability to easily establish a busy yet comfortable schedule soon after retirement.
The rest and relaxation route of retirement is a period characterized by low activity.
Phase 3: Disenchantment - Instead of experiencing euphoria and relaxation, some experience a period of disappointment and uncertainty.
Phase 4: Reorientation  Reorientation is a period in which retirees assess their retirement experience and start making the necessary adjustments that will improve their lives, such as taking up new hobbies or volunteering.
Phase 5: Retirement Routine - According to Atchley, the ability to master a comfortable, rewarding, and satisfying retirement routine is the ultimate goal of retirement.
Phase 6: Termination of Retirement - As people age and begin to decline physically, they either become dependent on their partner or spouse, or their partners become dependent on them for elder care.
