The transition into parenthood begins with the stages of pregnancy and proceeds through the post partum adjustment, raising preschoolers, school age children, adolescents, launching, and empty nest. The relationship between the couple changes and continues to adjust throughout the life cycle. Parenting is both stressful and joyful. The student should discuss each of these stages.
