If graphics appear before readers have been informed, they will begin to study the graphics and draw their own inferences and conclusions. A graphic that follows an introduction and brief explanation will supplement what has been said in the report. Additional interpretation and needed analysis should follow the graphic. A graphic that will not fit on the page where it is introduced should appear at the top of the following page.
