Answer to Question 1

B
When writing a business letter, Dear Customer: is the salutation a writer should use to
address a customer whose name and gender he or she does not know. Traditionally, the
salutation ends with a colon; this is known as standard punctuation and is the style most often
used by business writers.

Answer to Question 2

B
The attention line is an optional part of a business letter. Use an attention line when you want
to stress that the letter is technically intended for the company, not the person. Also use an
attention line when you do not know and cannot find out the name of the person to whom your
letter should be directed.
