Answer: Keep the message short and to the point. There is no need to add a salutation (to the beginning of a text. Do not text messages that require a long or complicated response. Your audience will not be able to text back easily. Do not expect a quick response. Although industry research shows that 97 of texts are read within 3 minutes of being sent, your audience may be too busy to reply immediately. When texting a client or business acquaintance you do not know well, avoid abbreviations, be explicitly polite, and use complete sentences so that you do not sound too harsh or flippant.
