Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Bandura maintained that there are three reciprocal, interacting components in acquiring any human behavior:
- You, the Person-your genetics, race, ethnicity, age, biological sex
- Your Behavior-the choices and decisions you make, your responses and reactions to the incoming information in your daily life
- Your Environment  your parents, school, peers, neighborhood, the media, the religious hierarchy, and the political structure of the culture in which you live.
These three interwoven components-P, B, E-are dynamic and are in a continuous state of change. Rather than the seemingly straightforward approach to learning represented as Stimulus to Response put forth by earlier learning theorists, Bandura added the element of cognition (thought) and put forth the notion that cognition then acts as a filter of sorts between the stimulus and the response.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.

The average older adult in the United States takes five prescription drugs per day. Half of these drugs contain a sedative. Alcohol should therefore be avoided by most senior citizens because of the dangerous interactions between alcohol and sedatives.
