Answer to Question 1

3/4 + 1/2 = 3/4 + 2/4 = 5/4 = 1 1/4 hours;
8 - 1 1/4 = 7 4/4 - 1 1/4 = 6 3/4 hours;
6 3/4  2 1/2 = 27/4  5/2 = 135/8 = 16 7/8 quarts

Answer to Question 2

2,225  0.07  190/360 = 82.20; 2,225 + 82.20 = 2,307.20
