Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Stepwise regression is a multiple regression estimation technique whereby independent variables are added and deleted one at a time to/from the regression equation. The decision to add or delete a variable is made on the basis of whether that variable improves the model. The use of stepwise regression can reduce the possibility for multicollinearity since it is unlikely that two highly correlated x variables will be included in a multiple regression that is estimated using the stepwise technique. This technique is useful when there are a great many independent variables.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.

Hypertension is a silent killer because it is deadly and has no significant early symptoms. The danger from hypertension is the extra load on the heart, which can lead to hypertensive heart disease and kidney damage. This occurs without any major symptoms until the high blood pressure becomes extreme. Regular blood pressure checks are an important method of catching hypertension before it can kill you.
