Yes. Livigni's actions, as store manager, were prompted in part by the motivation of protecting the employer's property and the employer's interests. His battery of Farris Bryant occurred within the authorized time and location of his employment. Thus, the battery occurred within the scope and course of Livigni's employment, and National was properly held liable for this conduct.
