Answer to Question 1

Sommers claimed that she had been discriminated against because of her status as a psychological female even though she had the anatomical body of a male. This condition was referred to by Sommers as transsexualism. Sommers argued that Title VII does protect those who are discriminated against because of their transsexuality.
