Answer to Question 1

Under Tree Fruits the union may picket outside the supermarket, asking the public not to buy the products produced by the primary employer, the bakery. They may not, however, picket asking the public not to shop at the local supermarket. Under DeBartolo II, the union may handbill or leaflet the public, asking the public not to shop at the local supermarket while it sells products produced by the primary employer.
