ANS: C
Patients on heparin must have platelet counts performed daily. A significant drop in the platelet count is a signal for heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. The PTT is also regularly performed to monitor the heparin dosage.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
All the products listed, in the appropriate clinical setting, may be used for therapy of DIC.
