Double vision affects visual acuity and depth perception, vertigo affects equilibrium and balance, and inability to control muscle movements leads to unsteady gaitall problems that may contri-bute to frequent falls. Ringing in the ears and cirrhosis do not overtly increase fall risk.

Mouth care should be offered after deep breathing and coughing to clear the mouth of unpleasant taste.
