Answer to Question 1

1
Pain is a protective system that includes protection from unsafe behaviors by use of reflexes, memory, and avoidance. Even though the automatic withdrawal reflex is a part of the pain response, it does not explain why pain is important. Pain does not create sensitivity to pain. Pain does not help with healing.

Answer to Question 2

4
A difference of greater than 20 mmHg when assessing bilateral blood pressure measurements is considered a significant finding in the diagnosis of subclavian steal syndrome. This blood pressure discrepancy is not a finding with arteriosclerosis, aortic aneurysm, or deep vein thrombosis.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
