MRI is contraindicated for patients with implanted metallic devices such as pacemakers. The other information also will be reported to the health care provider but does not impact on wheth-er or not the patient can have an MRI.

The nurse will need to teach the patient that the procedure is rapid and involves little risk. None of the other actions are necessary.
