Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 3, 4
People with thalassemia minor often are asymptomatic. When manifestations do occur, they include mild splenomegaly and bronze skin coloring. Confusion, muscle cramps, and spontaneous fractures are not associated with thalassemia.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1
The manifestations of acquired hemolytic anemia depend on the extent of hemolysis and the body's ability to replace destroyed red blood cells (RBCs). When the condition is severe, bone marrow expands, and bones may be deformed or may develop pathologic fractures. An enlarged spleen and jaundice may be present but are not defining characteristics of severe acquired hemolytic anemia. Bradycardia is not related to this condition. Tachycardia would be anticipated in the severe form of this anemia.
