Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1, 2, 3, 4
Manifestations of bowel ischemia include diarrhea, occult or fresh blood in stools, abdominal distention, and abdominal pain. A change in bowel sounds is not a manifestation of bowel ischemia.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: 4 lbs.
The patient weighs 115 kg. To convert this weight into lbs. multiply the weight in kg by 2.2 lbs. or 115  2.2 = 253 lbs. The patient is counseled to lose 10 of total body weight or 253 lbs.  10 = 25.3 lbs. If this weight is to be lost over 6 months, divide the total weight to lose by 6 or 25.3/6 = 4.216 lbs. When rounding to the nearest whole number, the patient should set a goal to lose 4 lbs. per month.
