Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1
Acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis is characterized by hematuria, proteinuria, azotemia, and salt and water retention. Urine appears brown or cola-colored. Salt and water retention leads to hypertension and edema, primarily of the face. Dependent edema of the extremities may also be noted. Azotemia is defined as elevated blood levels of nitrogenous waste products and is one of the manifestations of acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis. Periorbital edema is not characteristic of acute kidney injury or kidney trauma.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1
A functional arteriovenous fistula is assessed for the presence of a palpable pulsation and a bruit upon auscultation. A bruit is not palpated; a thrill is palpated, not inspected or auscultated.
