The goal with either drug is a reduction of intracranial pressure to 15 to 20 mm Hg while a mean arterial pressure of 70 to 80 mm Hg is maintained. Dilantin and Cerebyx are anticonvulsants. Mannitol is an osmotic diuretic, and nimodipine is a calcium channel blocker.
