Rapid resolution of the previously elevated ST segment should occur. The serum concentration of creatine kinase rises rapidly and markedly, a phenomenon termed washout.

Ischemic stroke results from interruption of blood flow to the brain and accounts for 80 to 85 of all strokes. The interruption can be the result of a thrombotic or embolic event.
