The nurse suspects that a young adult has an alteration in mental health. Which client statement did the nurse use to make this decision?

2. Someone who helps out at a senior center is engaging others and relating.
3. Volunteering is a good way to relate to others and make a difference.
4. Since relating to others is a most important human need, the client who is isolated is a concern for the nurse. Further exploration of the client's mental health is necessary.

1. Acetylcholine is decreased in those with Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases.
2. The production of dopamine is decreased in Parkinson disease, which this client is exhibiting.
3. Glutamate is increased in Alzheimer disease and not associated with Parkinson disease.
4. A decrease in serotonin is thought to characterize depression and anxiety disorders.
