A group of friends decide to go for a movie
 
  As the theater was not very far, they decide to start only half an hour before the movie was supposed to begin. But they get stuck in rush hour traffic, have trouble finding parking, and end up arriving after the film has already started. Does this scenario illustrate a failure of critical thinking? Justify your answer.

Yes, this scenario illustrates a failure of critical thinking. The group should have taken into account the traffic at that time of day and the time it would probably take to park. If they had used more foresight, they would have realized that they needed to start out sooner in order to be on time for the start of the film.
