Answer to Question 1

In real life our skills may or may not be strong enough, and our knowledge may or may not be adequate to the task at hand. The problem may or may not be too difficult for us. Forces beyond our control may determine the actual outcome. None of that cancels out the positive critical thinking habits of mind with which strong critical thinkers strive to approach the problems life sends their way.

Answer to Question 2

Knowing our priorities helps us identify situations, which are or could become problems for
us. In turn, examining the characteristics of the problem helps us clarify our priorities.
