Lacey, a 9-year-old African American girl, has a history of Sickle Cell disease. She is scheduled to receive her polio vaccine today. The nurse knows that she should give the Inactive Poliovirus Vaccine (IPV) because:

2. A tonic-clonic seizure has stiffening of the muscles. This child is not exhibiting this characteristic.
