A nurse is instructing parents about treatment for and giving general information about chickenpox. The parents would like to know how to prevent spreading the disease. The nurse would inform the parents that:

The child will be contagious until all the lesions have crusted and at least 5 days have elapsed since the rash was seen. Chickenpox can be spread by direct contact and by droplets. The dried scabs are not infectious.

A
Activity should be restricted until the hematuria subsides. A low-sodium diet us usually ordered. Protein does not have to be increased.
